LETTERS: FISCAL RESTRAINT AND HATS

Dear Editor:

It has been said that a candidate running for office needs deep pockets because he/she needs five hats: one to wear, one to throw into the ring, one to pass around for donations, one to talk through and one out of which to pull rabbits.

I am not a bettin' person, but I'm willing to make a wager that we will not see a balanced budget in seven years from either Republicans or Democrats. If we do, I'll eat my one and only hat.
