LETTERS: DON'T FORGET LEIF ERIKSON DAY

To the editor:Oct. 7 is the proper time to memorialize one of the most important discoveries in European and North American history. Over 900 years ago, Leif Erikson found North America by landing at Newfoundland. At the time, he was likely using a longship with a sail for propulsion.
