KFC, liquor store find new ownership

The KFC restaurant at 2101 Williams St. in Cape Girardeau has changed hands. As of Friday, May 17, it came under the ownership of Tasty Chick'n Midwest LLC.

Several different businesses have either changed hands or opened up, according to the City of Cape Girardeau Community Development Department.

* Tasty Chick’n Midwest LLC, based out of Broomfield, Colorado, took over the KFC location at 2101 William St., effective Friday, May 17. It took over management from Columbia, Tennessee-based JRN, Inc. the country’s third largest KFC franchisee.

Tasty Chick’n Midwest operates five other KFC locations in Missouri, in Kennett, Malden, Perryville, Poplar Bluff and West Plains.

* Vipul Patel of Cape Girardeau took over Liquor Warehouse at 52 S. Plaza Way, effective Monday, May 20. The business sells liquor, wine, spirits and tobacco.

* Cape Girardean Katie Ramirez started Hello Peace Counseling and Wellness at 1930 Broadway, Suite B. Ramirez provides mental health counseling from a licensed professional counselor.

Maybe the new owners of KFC will move to a more centralized and safer location.

Enough liquor can remove that KFC fowl smell and greasy taste .

Our KFC is absolutely terrible. From the food to the employees. Sorry but true. As for a safer location that is a ridiculous comment Bully! There is NO safe place in Cape Girardeau anymore or, have you just been in a coma the last several years!

Gotta agree about the food . When they say 'It's Finger Licking Good' , greasy is putting it mildly . And the Colonel can be a little cranky while he's frying up a bucket of KFC chicken too.

But maybe a change of scenery will make all the difference in the world , the KFC chicken just might be "It's Finger Licking Good" again with a smile while it's frying .

Wasn't a man killed in the Hardee's near there and then the recent shooting at the pharmacy at the end of that block? I believe both were personal (not random).

Certainly crime in the area is an issue. But high prices and poor product is what killed the Colonel.

Pretty much the same as all the trashy, filthy, poorly managed fast food restaurants in Cape. Hard to find a clean, wiped, disinfected table at any of them!

Agreed that something has changed for the worse, has been a KFC, formerly known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, in that area between its present location and the former one across William Street, since apparently around 1970.

Recalled another being on N. Kingshighway as well for a while.

Chances are good there will be a lot of articles written about the rise of crime in that area regarding the theft of "It's Finger Licking Good" chickens missing thier drum sticks and wings.

The police who do catch some of the thieves who are suspected of fowl play will have their names redacted . This website will keep the public abreast of the BREAKING NEWS .

Capn Crunch and Finger Licking Good Chicken ? ...you got me there for a couple hours...
