Area Dancers Perform with The Moscow Ballet

On Thursday, Dec. 8, dancers from around the area had the opportunity to perform alongside professional dancers from the Moscow Ballet in the Great Russian Nutcracker. In April the Dance Center was contacted by the Moscow Ballet to partner with them, and become the host studio in their Dance With Us program. In October, the Moscow Ballet sent an audition director, Alisa Bolotnikova, to The Dance Center to audition 59 dancers for various roles in the performance. The Dance Center instructors, Hannah Sanders, Nicole Meyer, and Sarah Wolf, were then responsible for teaching the choreography and getting the dancers ready to perform over the next 6 weeks. Seventeen dancers from The Dance Center's Cape Girardeau location, and seven dancers from their Perryville location, along with dancers from other area studios performed at the River Campus Bedell Theater in a sold out show.
