Broadway Rx Pharmacist Gets Vaccine Training

Jim Tilghman, a pharmacist with Broadway Prescription Shop for eleven years, recently completed training with the Missouri Pharmacy Association to administer immunizations. He and pharmacist Kevin Wood provide immunizations for some of the most common conditions, including: Zostavax for Shingles, Pneumovax for Pneumonia, and Influenza for Flu. Additional vaccines are available as needed.

"I'm excited to be able to provide this service to the community. As the role of a pharmacist continues to change we have to continue to learn and adapt to the needs of our patients. I graduated pharmacy school in 1968 and haven't stopped learning."

A private consultation room recently was constructed at the pharmacy, located at 710 Broadway, which also serves as a private on-site immunization clinic. The pharmacy also provides flu vaccination clinics on location for more than fifty area businesses and senior centers. Now under new ownership, Broadway Prescription Shop recently hosted a ribbon cutting and a birthday party celebrating '80 years of personalized care for life.'
