Julie Wunderlich, Joyce McIntosh and Paul Fliege following the 115th Boston Marathon.
Three Jackson R2 Employees recently competed in the 115th running of the Boston Marathon on Monday April 18th, 2011. To be able to compete in this marathon, which is a distance of 26.2 miles, runners have to obtain a qualifying time at the same distance at another marathon. The qualifying time is dependant on their age and gender. Julie Wunderlich finished in 3:28:22, a Personal Record (PR). She is the Health Teacher at R.O Hawkins Junior High and Co-head Girls Varsity Soccer coach. Joyce McIntosh finished in 3:52:55. She is the School Nurse at Orchard Elementary and Wellness Coordinator for the district. Paul Fliege finished in 3:16:52. He is a Band teacher at the Junior High and High School. All three runners, with these times, qualified for next year's Boston Marathon.
