Tips on Planting your fall garden
(Community ~ 08/14/16)
Over the past few weeks, I have been given a lot of samples of vegetable plants that are not doing well. Some are diseased. Some don't produce vegetables. Some are not growing. These results are due to a lot of factors, such as too much moisture, so the roots are rotting. In addition, high temperatures along with a lot of humidity because of all of the rain are the prime weather conditions for most plant diseases to develop...

Canning for the fall
(Community ~ 08/14/16)
Whether we are ready or not, fall is just about here, if it isn't already. I don't know the official beginning of fall, but the flies are acting as if fall is here. I must admit I enjoy all the seasons. I enjoy spring when the trees are budding out and blooming. The grass is beginning to green up and the birds seem to be singing a new song. The frogs down in the pond are letting their voices be heard. It is a good time of the year...

Take it all

I'm realizing that pursuit of plans, dreams and desires -- even good ones -- can make our lives full and leave our souls empty if we're using them as gods instead of seeking our true God and letting him sustain us. In his song "Most of the Air," Zach Winters sings, "You sought me without flag, so I know. I know." Until recently, I have always misunderstood this line as, "You saw me without plans, so I know. I know."...
