The value of silence
In our lives we are constantly bombarded with noise. Tv, internet, advertisements, children, highways, appliances, radio, and the list goes on. With so much noise around us at all times it is hard to focus and think about what we are really after. We are constantly reactive to the next loud noise or flashing light that catches our eye.
The value of silence is that it gives you time to think, to clear your head. It gives you a moment of focus that you can figure situations out. We are all faced with challenges every day. So instead of reacting to the challenges take a moment of silence, sit and think about what you are really after, and you will come up with the steps to get there.
Places that I have found useful are a car ride without the radio, sitting in a basement without any appliances around you, or going to a park that is off the beaten path.
Sitting, thinking, and making a clear choice for your future is much more effective than reacting.
So the next time you are facing issues in your life, find a quite spot, keep your emotions at bay, sit and think about what you are really after. This will guide you to the destination quicker and easier than you ever thought possible.
