Bobbie Connor

Bobbie Jean Ford Connor was born July 10, 1945, to William H. Ford and Willie V. Smith in Lula, Mississippi.

She was called to rest Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Bobbie grew up in Hayti Heights and graduated from the historic Hayti Central School in 1965.

In 1998, Bobbie relocated to Cape Girardeau, and on Nov. 7 of the same year, Bobbie and Bennie Connor were joined in the bonds of holy matrimony at Second Missionary Baptist Church.

She was a woman of faith. She served as an usher at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and at her current church home, Living Branch Ministries in Cape Girardeau, under the leadership of Pastor Stafford Moore Jr.

Bobbie worked at VIP Industries in Cape Girardeau as part of the support staff. She also worked at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau for 14 years before retiring in 2013.

She enjoyed growing plants (indoor and outdoor), cooking, watching TV and helping others. She was passionate about being around her family for holidays and special occasions.

Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory her husband; three sons, Craig (Latonja) Pearson and Marcus Turks of Cape Girardeau and Edjron Pearson of Madison, Wisconsin; one daughter, Natosha Pearson of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three nephews; two nieces; and a host of grand-nieces, -nephews and friends.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Selena Leflora; brother, William H. Ford II; sister, Deborah Miles; two grandchildren; and two nieces.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 4, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at noon Saturday, May 4, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stafford Moore Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery following the service.
