A Regional Poetry Out Loud Competition, hosted by the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, will be from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 16 in the Oscar C. Hirsch Room at the Cape Girardeau Public Library, 711 N. Clarke Ave. The event will determine who attends the state-wide competition of Poetry Out Loud National Recitation Contest as a representative of Southeast Missouri.
