Mechanical bull makes a return

Riding a mechanical bull, a feat of skill that became popular decades ago in the wake of the movie "Urban Cowboy," is making a return to Southeast Missouri.

A bull will be ready for riding, beginning at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Pockets, a nightclub in the Town Plaza Shopping Center.

Travis Keller, whose company is sponsoring the return of the bull, says the new version operated by hydraulics is safer than the old bulls.
