Cape Girardeau Municipal Band opens season

The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band opens its 114th season, the 89th under city sponsorship, with trombonist Dr. Dan Cotner in his 75th year with the band, on Wednesday, June 18 at the Capaha Park band shell.

Mayor Harry Rediger, who was introduced as the guest director for the first concert of the season, announced he wanted to forgo the honor this year, and to present the baton to Cotner in recognition of the trombonist's 75 years with the municipal band.
