A Bollinger County man jailed on 22 sex-related counts following alleged incidents with three boys over the last four years will get a new venue, according to KZIM KSIM. Bowns pleaded not guilty Friday before Judge William Syler and was granted a change of venue to Scott County. A new hearing date in Benton, Mo., is pending. Bollinger County sheriff's deputies arrested 50-year-old Tory Bowns in August and charged him with nine counts of first-degree statutory sodomy, five counts of child molestation and one count of attempted statutory sodomy. Seven additional charges were filed in September. In early August, a parent of a 12-year-old boy filed a complaint that Bowns, of Marble Hill, Mo., was molesting her child and his 10-year-old friend. Bowns allegedly also molested a third boy.

Wilfong murder trial to take place in Cape Girardeau County

A Bollinger County teenager charged with murder will go to trial this spring in a Cape Girardeau County courtroom, according to KZIM KSIM. On Friday Judge Joe Satterfield set a jury trial in Jackson to begin June 1 and last three days. John Wilfong, 18, of Patton, Mo., is charged with shooting his foster mother to death and fleeing the scene with his 9-year-old foster brother Dec. 30, 2008. Jacob Humphrey, Wilfong's foster brother, was found the next day, and Wilfong was taken into custody. Pamela Ackman, 48, was found dead in her Patton home when her husband returned from work.

Twiggs granted delay in drug distribution case

The hearing of a Cape Girardeau man wanted on charges of allegedly purchasing and distributing narcotics was delayed Monday because of additional reviews of details in his case. Attorney Jennifer Booth told Judge William Syler she would like additional time to review evidence in the case against her client, Zatrun R. Twiggs. She said Twiggs had not not seen videotapes that were used by a Missouri State Highway Patrol confidential informant during the investigation that led to charges of drug trafficking against him. On Jan. 4 in a Cape Girardeau County courtroom Twiggs will enter a plea. He faces charges of home invasion, kidnapping and armed criminal action in Scott County.

Cape Girardeau police looking for armed robbery suspect

Police are looking for a man who apparently robbed the AM PM gas station on William Street just after 8 a.m. Monday. An employee who was in the store at 1101 William St. when the incident happened said a man wearing a hooded sweat shirt with a brown coat and a black ski mask displayed a handgun and demanded money, Cape Girardeau Police Department spokesman Cpl. Adam Glueck said. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot. Glueck said the suspect initially fled the store going west but may have turned south soon after leaving the store. No one was injured in the incident.
