Sarah Rae Wessel and Adam Charles Johnson were united in marriage June 6, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville. The Rev. Wayne Schwiesow performed the ceremony. Organist was Austin Wessel of Gordonville, and soloist was Charlie Vaughn of Cape Girardeau.

Parents of the couple are Dennis and Jane Wessel of Gordonville, and John and Pat Johnson of Advance, Mo.

Maid of honor was Jessica Randolph of Gordonville, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Morgan Wessel, sister of the bride; Caitlen Denny, cousin of the bride; Amanda and Emily Johnson, sisters of the groom.

Travis Hitt of Advance was best man. Groomsmen were Jack Ervin; Shane Garner; Heath Robins, cousin of the groom; and Taylor Gorton, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Joseph Wessel, cousin of the bride, and Wyatt Blattel.

Junior bride was Kate Hughes, cousin of the groom. Junior groom was Tristan Birk, cousin of the bride.

Flower girls were Rylee Gorton, cousin of the bride, and Stella Ruessler, niece of the groom. Ringbearer was Mason Landgraf, cousin of the bride.

Wesley Blattel attended the guest book. Anna Hughes, cousin of the groom, handed out programs.

The reception was held at Deerfield Lodge.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at the church.

Mrs. James received a degree in health management from Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed with Marathon Benefits Group.

The groom is a self-employed farmer.

The couple is residing in Gordonville.
