Marlene Elise Werne and Matthew Morgan Gile were married July 7, 2007, at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Mike Malone performed the ceremony. Harpist was Chaddie Fruehwald and flutist was Robert Fruehwald.
The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Patricia Werne of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Robin Gile of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and Robert and Jan Gile of Cape Girardeau.
Matron and maid of honor, respectively, were Kirsten Short of Charlotte, N.C., and Erika Werne of Raleigh, N.C., sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ruth Werne of Duluth, Minn., sister-in-law of the bride, and Beth Gile of Sikeston, Mo., sister of the groom. Junior bridesmaid was Carson Patton of Minneapolis, Minn., cousin of the groom.
John Gile of Columbia, Mo., was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Todd Fletcher of Lees Summit, Mo., Andrew Jenkins of Advance, Mo., and Zach Korenak of St. Louis. Ushers were Josef Werne of Duluth, brother of the bride, and Chris Fredrichs of Cleveland, Ohio, cousin of the bride.
Ringbearer was Jaxen Werne, son of Josef and Ruth Werne and nephew of the bride.
Guest book attendants were Cat Ross and Allison Martino.
The reception was held at Francine's Gardens.
The groom's family hosted the rehearsal dinner July 6 at Bella Italia.
Mrs. Gile received a bachelor of arts degree in English literature from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, in 2006. She is employed at Daniel Boone Regional Library in Columbia, Mo.
The groom received a bachelor of arts degree in history from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2007. He is an assistant manager with Wal-Mart Corp. in Columbia.
After a wedding trip to Las Vegas, Nev., the couple resides in Columbia.
