April Wenskay and Clay Groefsema Jr. were married June 27, 2009, at the home of his parents in Lemoore, Calif. The Rev. Carl Lingren performed the ceremony. Soloist was Cristina Bailey of Monterey, Calif.
The bride is the daughter of Carl and Lori Wenskay of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Clay and Jan Groefsema Sr.
Maids of honor were Abby Crowley and Meghan Kern of Cape Girardeau. Matron of honor was Jaimi Grimm of Cape Girardeau, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Liz Pinksten and Candless Zielinski of Cape Girardeau, and Amy Bisher and Brooke Lopes of Lemoore, both sisters of the groom.
Capt. Clark Groefsema of San Diego, Calif., twin brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Kadau of Huntington Beach, Calif., Tony Skulick of Shingle Springs, Calif., Seth Womack of Guymon, Okla., Steve Jimenez of Elk Grove, Calif., Brian Luke of San Diego, and Eddy Lyons of Lemoore.
Flower girl was Brynn Bisher, daughter of Christian and Amy Bisher of Lemoore and niece of the groom. Ring bearer was Nicholas Grimm, son of Dan and Jaimi Grimm and nephew of the bride.
Haylee Lopes attended the guest book. Program attendants were John Seabaugh, nephew of the bride, and Taylor Powers, cousin of the groom.
A reception was held at the Groefsema home following the ceremony. A second reception was held July 11 at the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
The rehearsal dinner was held June 26 at the home of Travis and Brooke Lopes.
Mrs. Groefsema is a 2003 graduate of Central High School, and attended Southeast Missouri State University. She is an insurance specialist with RWM Financial Group.
The groom is a 1999 graduate of Lemoore High School, and a 2003 graduate of the University of Redlands. He is a ranch manager with Ranch Management LLC.
The couple is residing in Lemoore.
