Emily Clare Welker and Michael Reinhard Preuschoff Montgomery were married April 28 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Joseph Williams performed the ceremony. Lenny Kuper of Cape Girardeau was pianist and Jacob Buckenmyer of Los Angeles and Megan Moore of Washington, D.C., were vocalists.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Jim and Terri Welker of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Dr. Claudia Preuschoff of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Maids of honor were Lauren Schumacker of Chicago, friend of the bride, and Alex Richards of San Jose, California, friend of the bride. Bridesmaid was Quinn Beisser of Los Angeles.

Flower girl was Kemper Welker, daughter of Justin and Jennifer Welker of Columbia, Illinois, and niece of the bride.

The ringbearer was Henry Welker, son of Matthew and Julie Welker of Cape Girardeau and nephew of the bride.

Candlelighter was Mollie DeBord, daughter of Dr. Jeff and Jill DeBord of Danville, Illinois, and cousin of the bride.

Mary Katherine Montgomery of New Haven, Connecticut, sister of the groom, was best ma'am. Groomsmen were Joe Salamone of Poplar Bluff, friend of the groom, and R.J. Rushin of St. Louis, friend of the groom.

Ushers were Matthew Welker of Cape Girardeau and Justin Welker of Edwardsville, Illinois, brothers of the bride.

The reception was held at Drury Plaza Hotel.

The groom's mother hosted the rehearsal dinner on April 27 at Celebrations Downtown.

Emily received bachelor's degrees in social work and nursing. She is an obstetrics nurse at Southeast Hospital.

Michael received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He is an civil engineer at Strickland Engineering.

After a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, in May 2018, the couple lives in Jackson.
