Jessica Leah Markhart Wolpers and Darrin Lee Rhodes exchanged vows Oct. 14, 2000, at Cape Bible Chapel. The Revs. Kevin Rhodes of Searcy, Ark., brother of the groom, and Luther Rhodes of Jackson, Mo., father of the groom, performed the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by Carol Walther of Jackson.
The bride is the daughter of Homer and Nancy Markhart of Cape Girardeau, and Paul and Debbie Griffin of Fruitland, Mo. The Rev. Luther and Kathy Rhodes are parents of the groom.
Maid of honor was Alanna Domnick of San Diego, Calif. Bridesmaids were Michelle Schwepker of Cape Girardeau; Betsy Markhart-Collier of Cape Girardeau and April Spencer of Fruitland, sisters of the bride; and LaDonna Hale of Cape Girardeau.
Brian Hancock of Oakland City, Ind., served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Steve Rhodes of St. Louis, brother of the groom; Mike Hess, Sean Williams and Roy Jennings, all of Cape Girardeau. Ushers and candlelighters were Lowell Rhodes, cousin of the bride, and Chad Collier, brother-in-law of the bride, both of Cape Girardeau.
Flower girl was Michaela Markhart, daughter of Betsy Markhart-Collier and niece of the bride. Ringbearers were Devan Wolpers, son of the bride, and Travis Bailey of Sikeston, son of the groom.
Lisa Waggoner of Sedgewickville, Mo., attended the guest book. Programs were handed out by Katie Waggoner of Sedgewickville.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Jackson Armory. Servers were Mary Lou Gohn of Cape Girardeau, aunt of the bride, and Kathy Waggoner of Sedgewickville.
Mrs. Rhodes is majoring in special education at Southeast Missouri State University. She is a school bus driver for Crabtree-Harmon.
The groom is majoring in criminal justice at Southeast University. He is employed at Breakaway's Bar and Billiards.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
