JACKSON -- Deborah Lynn Wilmes and Paul E. Schorey were married June 26, 1999, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. The Revs. Sam Roethemeyer and Milton Ryan performed the ceremony.
Readers were Randy and Kris Burkemper of St. Peters, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Terry and Jaci Gohn of Jackson, uncle and aunt of the groom.
Organist was Jeffery Overbee of Cape Girardeau, and vocalist was Christy Shinn of Gordonville.
Parents of the bride are John and Karen Wilmes of Wentzville. The groom is the son of Paul Schorey Sr. and Jan and Jim Nicholson of Uniontown.
Traci Thompson of Millersville, sister of the groom, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lisa Orso of O'Fallon, Mary Harris of Wentzville, Kim Wellman of St. Peters, Julie Burkemper of Old Monroe, and Mary Wilmes of St. Charles, cousin of the bride.
Best man was Tony Thompson of Millersville, brother-in-law of the groom. Groomsmen were Andy Harrison and Jason Watson of Jackson, Marcus Magana and Jim Sangsvang of Fort Worth, Texas, and Rodney Gillen of Montgomery, Ala. Ushers were Jeff and Pat Wilmes, brothers of the bride, and Ted Tsikhlakis.
Miniature bride and groom were Kaitlyn Thompson, niece of the groom, and Eli Gohn, cousin of the groom.
Flower girl was Madison Baker-Wilmes, niece of the bride. Ringbearer was Gordon Bradley Jr., nephew of the groom.
Candlelighters were Rosa Baker-Wilmes and Sandy Wilmes of O'Fallon, sisters-in-law of the bride.
Programs were handed out by Amy Bradley of Scott City and Dana Bomar of Cape Girardeau, sisters of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Schorey is a 1995 graduate of St. Dominic High School in O'Fallon, and 1999 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She will be teaching first grade at Orchard Elementary School this fall.
The groom is a 1992 graduate of Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Texas, and 1998 graduate of Southeast University. He is a fifth grade teacher at South Elementary School.
The couple resides in Jackson.
