BELL CITY -- Denise Marie Steiner and Jeffrey Marck Funston were married July 24, 1999, at Bell City United Methodist Church. The Rev. Daniel Hale performed the double ring ceremony. Pianist was Debra Hitt of Cape Girardeau, and vocalists were Terry and Janet Robison of Advance.

Parents of the couple are Julian and Teresa Steiner of Bell City and Marck and Bonnie Funston of Herculaneum.

Amy Nichols of Bell City was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were TeLisha Shelby, Dawn Freeman, and Kelli Steiner, sister of the bride, all of Bell City.

The groom chose his brother, Kevin Funston of Herculaneum, as best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Tripp of DeSoto, Jeremy Mitchell and Nate Berneking of Herculaneum. Ushers were Jared Hale of Jackson, cousin of the groom, and Nate Wills of Bell City, godbrother of the bride.

Flower girl was Hunter Wright of Bell City, cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was David Lee of Imperial, cousin of the groom.

Candlelighters were Katie Niemczyk, godsister of the bride, and Courtney Brockmeyer, both of Bell City.

Marissa Tesdall of St. Charles attended the guest book.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Bell City Multipurpose Building. Servers were Jessica Shelby, Kay and Meghan Dover, all of Bell City.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner July 23 at Dexter Bar-B-Que.

Mrs. Funston is a 1997 graduate of Bell City High School, and is pursuing a degree in elementary education at Southeast Missouri State University.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Herculaneum High School, and 1998 graduate of Southeast University. He is a physical education teacher and basketball/baseball coach at Bell City High School.

The couple resides in Bell City.
