JACKSON -- Kirsten Erica Splinter and Vince Michael Black were married Jan. 8, 2000, at Central Presbyterian Church in Clayton. Dr. John Splinter, father of the bride, performed the double ring ceremony. Vocalists were Megan Sweeney, Bill Blase, Karsee Taylor, and Mary McCaskill. Musicians were Chris Riser, Jon Kever and Chris Burkley
John and Marcia Splinter of LaCrosse, Wis., are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Randy and Sandy Black of Jackson.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father.
Mary McCaskill of Birmingham, Ala., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Fauncy Birk of St. Louis; Gretchen Blase of Kirkwood and Megan Sweeney of Brentwood, both sisters of the bride.
The groom chose Stephen Chisholm of Hendersonville, Tenn., as best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Edmunds of McKinney, Texas, Jon Kever of Jackson, Tenn., and Kevin Still of Arkadelphia, Ark. Ushers were Bill Blase of Kirkwood and Matt Sweeney of Brentwood, brothers-in-law of the bride.
Guest book attendants were Mindy Hoffman, and Holly Black, sister of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church. Servers were Janet Whitley, Carol Gallaher and Sarah Dame.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Jan. 7 at the church.
Mrs. Black is a 1993 graduate of Kirkwood High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Truman State University, and a master's degree in counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary. She is a family support coordinator with Habitat for Humanity in St. Louis.
The groom is a 1994 graduate of Jackson High School. He received bachelor of arts degrees in art and biblical studies from Union University. He is a manager with Starbucks Coffee Co. in Webster Groves.
After a wedding trip to the Smoky Mountains, the couple resides in Kirkwood.
