KELSO, Mo. -- Jane Slaten and Jim Spantgos exchanged wedding vows April 29, 2000, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. The Rev. Oliver Clavin performed the double ring ceremony. Readers were Bob Bauer of Cape Girardeau and Jessica Morrow of Jackson, niece of the bride. Organist was Betty Ressel of Kelso. Soloists were Bobby Ressel of Kelso and Laura Brown of Jackson, cousin of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Richard Weber Sr. of Cape Girardeau, and the late Mary Ann Weber. The groom is the son of Virginia Cherry of King, N.C., and the late James Spantgos Sr.

Virginia Fenimore of Cape Girardeau was maid of honor.

The groom chose Dennis Morrison of Dothan, Ala., as best man.

Candlelighters were Chad and Brett Slaten of Kelso, sons of the bride.

Mary Hennemann of Fort Myers, Fla., attended the guest book.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride and groom. Servers were Rita Koeppel and Charlene Weber of Kelso, Kia McGarr and Diane Groh of Cape Girardeau.

Mrs. Spantgos is a graduate of Notre Dame High School and Southeast Missouri State University. She is a provider relations specialist for Home Advantage Home Health Care Services.

The groom is a graduate of Parkland High School, and the Anesthesia Program for Nurses, Bowman Gray School of Medicine and N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C. He is a certified registered nurse anesthetist with Anesthesia Associates at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

After a cruise to the Caribbean Islands in the West Indies, the couple resides in Kelso.
