COMMERCE, Mo. -- Emily Joy Sander and Jamie William Essner exchanged vows June 9, 2001, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, Mo. The Rev. Normand Varone performed the double ring ceremony. The Revs. James Seyer and Al Hoernig concelebrated. Servers were Ryan and Zachary Essner and Trent Ray. Organist was Karen Seiler of Benton, Mo. Soloists were Sissy Burnett of Jackson, Mo., and Jimmy Simmons of Benton.

Parents of the bride are Scott and Debra Sander of Commerce. The groom is the son of Paul and Geneva Essner of Benton.

Maid of honor was Brittany Lambert of Benton, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jamie Sander of Commerce and Christina Sander of St. Louis, sisters-in-law of the bride, and Heather DeWitt of Sikeston, Mo.

Jeff Essner of Benton served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Mitchell Sander of Commerce and Matthew Sander of St. Louis, brothers of the bride, and Jason Seyer of state of Florida, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Brian Heuring, Jamie Proctor and Justin Vetter.

Flower girls were Whitney Harper, niece of the groom, and Madison Sander, cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Ross Essner, nephew of the groom. Whitney is the daughter of Ricky and Sheila Harper of Benton. Madison is the daughter of Derrick Sander and Dusty Steirs of Commerce. Ross is the son of Ronnie and Laura Essner of Benton.

Program attendants were Ashley Sullivan and Christian Essner, niece and nephew of the groom.

Following the ceremony, the reception, dinner and dance was held at the church parish center. Servers were Carolyn Essner and Cheryl Essner, sisters-in-law of the groom, and Sherre Simmons, aunt of the bride.

The parents of the bride and groom hosted the rehearsal dinner June 8 at the parish center.

Mrs. Essner is a 1999 graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School at Benton. She is pursuing a degree in early childhood education at Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed at S&L Builders.

The groom is a 1997 graduate of Notre Dame High School. He is employed at Steward Steel in Sikeston.

After a wedding trip to Destin, Fla., the couple is residing in Commerce.
