Hanover Lutheran Church was the setting Nov. 18, 2000, for the wedding of Joan Lynn Pierce and Daniel Loyd Windeknecht. The Rev. Mark Martin performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Marty Roth, harpist was Patricia Cheung, flutist was Carrie Finch, niece of the groom, and soloist was Mike Dumey.
Mr. and Mrs. Roger Pierce of Cape Girardeau are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Rosena Willard and the late Charles Windeknecht of Cape Girardeau.
Jennifer Pierce of Cape Girardeau was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were June Craigmiles of Chaffee, Mo., sister of the bride; Carolyn Wood of Jackson, Mo., cousin of the bride; Chris McCommons of Beaver Springs, Pa.; and Carrie Finch of Cape Girardeau.
Best man was Keith Wood of Jackson. Groomsmen were Joel Windeknecht of Jackson, cousin of the groom; Bruce Schwieger of Olive Branch, Ill.; David Bisher of Cape Girardeau; and Philip Goss of Knoxville, Tenn., nephew of the groom. Ushers were Dennis Reimann of Cape Girardeau, uncle of the groom; Joel Windeknecht and Philip Goss.
Molly Finch of Cape Girardeau and Anna Goss of Knoxville, nieces of the groom, were candlelighters.
Flower girls were Lydia and Mariel Goss and ringbearer was Jonathon Goss, nieces and nephew of the groom. They are the children of Jim and Sarah Goss of Knoxville.
Guest book attendants and greeters were Madison and McKenna Craigmiles, nieces of the bride, and Bethany and Becca Sweet, cousins of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. Servers were Janet Philipps, Maxine McFarland and Shirley McNeely, aunts of the bride.
The rehearsal dinner was held Nov. 17 at Delmonico's in Jackson.
Mrs. Windeknecht is a graduate of Central High School, received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University, and is a 1997 graduate of Southwest Missouri School of Anesthesia. She is a certified registered nurse anesthetist with Anesthesia Associates of Cape Girardeau.
The groom is a graduate of Central High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology from Southeast University. He is employed at Procter & Gamble.
After a cruise to the Mexican Riviera, the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
