Maile Beth Parker and Douglas Eugene Gannon were married Dec. 16, 2000, at Christ Church United Methodist in The Woodlands, Texas. The Rev. Marc Donaldson performed the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by David McKenery, trumpeter was Clyde Grabeih, and soloist was Jaye McKenery, all of Houston, Texas.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Parker III of Magnolia, Texas.
Matrons of honor were Gail Keeton and Donna Taylor of San Angelo, Texas. Bridesmaids were Teresa Maurer of Bryan, Texas, and Jill Transki of San Angelo.
Jerry Elder of Cape Girardeau served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Hal Cart of Fenton, Mo., stepfather of the groom; Brad Wintermute of Ashburn, Va., and Kendall Bunselmeyer of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Frank Parker IV of Port Lavaca, Texas, brother of the bride, and Jeffery Gannon of Blue Springs, Mo., brother of the groom.
Ringbearer was Greyson Parker, son of Frank and Beverly Parker of Port Lavaca, and nephew of the bride.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at The Woodlands Resort and Convention Center.
The groom's stepfather hosted the rehearsal dinner Dec. 15 at Saltgrass Steak House.
Mrs. Gannon received a bachelor of science in kinesiology in 1994 and a master of science in kinesiology in 1996 from Angelo State University in San Angelo. She is assistant volleyball coach at Southeast Missouri State University.
The groom received a bachelor of science in criminal justice and recreation in 1991 and a master of science in public administration in 1995 from Southeast University. He is recreation coordinator for city of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department.
The couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
