New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson, Mo., was the setting Dec. 23, 2000, for the wedding of Gloria Jean Mayo and Darrin Kenneth Sauerbrunn. The Revs. John H. Rice and Lynn Crader performed the double ring ceremony. Pianist was Tara Allen of Jackson, and saxophonist was Eric McGowen of Cape Girardeau.
The bride is the daughter of Sherry L. Mayo of Cape Girardeau. Kenneth and Janice Sauerbrunn of Jackson are parents of the groom.
Maid of honor was Kara Hastings of Kennett, Mo. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Roberts of Cape Girardeau, Laura Stoverink of Jackson, and Amy Hillin of Cape Girardeau.
Fred Stoverink of St. Louis served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Craig Clippard of St. Louis, Tommy Stoverink and Johnny Martin of Jackson. Ushers were John Hillin of Cape Girardeau; Michael Martin, Chris Hudson, and Paul Laurentius, all of Jackson.
Flower girl was Emma Brackett, daughter of Jamie and Kim Brackett of Fenton, Mo. Ringbearer was Kyle Amelunke, son of Richard and Tina Amelunke of Jackson and nephew of the groom.
Candlelighter was Terry Amelunke, son of Richard and Tina Amelunke and nephew of the groom.
Guest book attendants were Jill Jauch, Kim Brackett and Stephanie Sturhahn, all of St. Louis.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. Servers were Sarah Foote of Scott City, Mo., and Crissy Meridith of Louisville, Ky.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at the KC Hall.
Mrs. Sauerbrunn received a bachelor of science degree in elementary and special education. She is a special education teacher at Scott City Middle School.
The groom received a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He is a certified public accountant with Kerber, Eck, and Braeckel, LLP.
The couple resides in Jackson.
