Amy Lynn Lappe and Shawn Christian Seabaugh were united in marriage April 29, 2000, at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Revs. Richard Rolwing and Gerald Huff performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Leann Hendrix of Cape Girardeau.
Parents of the couple are Bob and Maryln Lappe of Cape Girardeau, and David and Paula Seabaugh of Marble Hill, Mo.
Kim Hogan of Cape Girardeau was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Whitney Wiedefeld of Jackson, Jennifer Moore and Tara Stroup of Cape Girardeau.
Chris Dick of Detroit, Mich., served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Alden Field of Santa Fe, N.M.; John Glueck of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride; and Mark Pearson of St. Louis. Ushers were Mike and Brad Lappe, brothers of the bride, Kevin Lappe, cousin of the bride, all of Cape Girardeau, and Shawn Stutts of Sikeston, Mo.
Candlelighters were Mike and Brad Lappe.
Flower girl was Ashlynne Shrum, daughter of Loy and Leah Shrum and cousin of the bride.
Program attendants were Jeremy Gray, Andrew Shrum and Mackenzie Stearns. Jeremy is the son of Jim and Michelle Gray and nephew of the groom. Andrew is the son of Loy and Leah Shrum and cousin of the bride. Mackenzie is the son of Debbie Rigger and cousin of the groom.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held in St. Mary's School gym.
Mrs. Seabaugh is a 1994 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in communication disorders from Southeast Missouri State University in May 2000. She is a graduate student at the university, pursuing a master's degree in speech pathology.
The groom is a 1993 graduate of Woodland High School. He received a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Southeast University in 1999. He is coordinator of the Worksite Program of Missouri Mentoring Partnership.
The couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
