JACKSON, Mo. -- Jessica Renee Koenig and Rodney Christopher Simmons were married July 1, 2000, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Henricks performed the double ring ceremony. Violinist was Casi Krauss of Cape Girardeau and organist was Judy Aufdenberg of Jackson. Soloist was Beth Roethemeyer and accompanist was Connie Aufdenberg, both of Jackson.
Parents of the bride are Terry and Vickie Koenig of Jackson. The groom is the son of Sherrie Simmons and Rodney and Joni Simmons, all of Cape Girardeau.
Heather Morton of Jackson was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Becky Besand of Cape Girardeau; Keisha Panagos of Jackson; Laura Morrow of Cape Girardeau; Misty Koenig of Jackson, sister-in-law of the bride; and Morgan Allen of Farmington, Mo., cousin of the bride.
Best man was Josh Campbell of Jackson. Groomsmen were Corey McNeely and Bill Penrod of Jackson; Scott Minner of Cape Girardeau, brother of the groom; Terry Koenig Jr. of Jackson, brother of the bride; and Austin Koenig of Jackson, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Josh Bryant of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the groom, and Terry Koenig Jr.
Candlelighters were Trevor Pearman of Cape Girardeau and Scott Minner, brothers of the groom.
Flower girl was Hannah Campbell, daughter of Josh Campbell and Heather Morton. Ringbearer was Keegan Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Allen of Farmington and cousin of the bride.
Guest book attendants were Vickie Bryant and Susan Engelmann of Cape Girardeau, aunts of the groom.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Elks Lodge. Servers were Jan Allen of Farmington and Tammie Koenig of Jackson, aunts of the bride; Cheryl Bollinger and Debbie Kieninger of Jackson.
The groom's mother hosted the rehearsal dinner June 30 at Jackson City Park.
Mrs. Simmons is pursuing a degree in elementary education at Southeast Missouri State University. She is a licensed practical nurse at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
The groom is pursuing a degree in computer science at Southeast University. He is a network administrator at LDD Inc.
After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
