JACKSON, Mo. -- Catherine Nicole Ivester and Christopher Sean Shaw exchanged vows May 27, 2000, at Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. Dr. Clayton Smith performed the double ring ceremony.
Parents of the bride are Stan and Francine Ivester of Benton, Mo., and Laura and Park Groat of Pellston, Mich. The groom is the son of Carl and Carol Shaw of Cape Girardeau.
Misti McElroy of Cape Girardeau was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kosrae Harmon, Star Ittu and Jewel Ittu, all of Onaway, Mich., cousin of the bride; and Lori Ivester of Charlevoix, Mich., sister-in-law of the bride.
The groom chose his brother, Jeff Shaw of Jackson, as best man. Groomsmen were Josh McElroy, Tom Hammontree and Chad Windisch, all of Cape Girardeau; and Matt Ivester of Charlevois, brother of the bride. Ushers were Derek Sides, Heath Lucas and Jason McKee, all of Cape Girardeau.
Flower girls were Madilyn McElroy and Allyson Shaw. Madilyn is the daughter of Josh and Misty McElroy. Allyson is the daughter of Jeff and Leah Shaw and niece of the groom. Ringbearer was Joshua Morse, son of Kevin and Gretchen Morse of Benton.
Candlelighter was Jordan Riker of Pellston, brother of the bride.
Ashley Thurman attended the guest book.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the A.C. Brase Arena. Servers were Shirley Ittu and Sandra Smith, aunts of the bride.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner May 26 at Drury Lodge.
Mrs. Shaw is a 1995 graduate of Pellston High School, and is pursuing a degree in criminal justice at Southeast Missouri State University.
The groom is a 1992 graduate of Central High School. He is a pipefitter with B.W. Birk and Associates Inc.
The couple resides in Jackson.
