Shanna Dione Guffey and Jason Todd Strickland were married Nov. 11, 2000, at Lynwood Baptist Church. The Rev. Keith Simon of Columbia, Mo., cousin of the groom, performed the double ring ceremony. William Shoemate of Cape Girardeau read scriptures.
Parents of the couple are Ted and Gail Guffey and Robert and Jenny Strickland, all of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Heather Birk of Cape Girardeau. Bridesmaids were Lauri Lankheit of Cape Girardeau, Carrie Bradke of Wahiawa, Hawaii, and Dawn Holdiness of Commerce, Mo.
Matthew Strickland of Cape Girardeau served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Scott Enderle of California, Brian Holdman and Johnny Guffey, brother of the bride, both of Cape Girardeau; and Van Strickland of Denver, Colo., brother of the groom. Ushers were Jeff, Mark and Scott Dunaway.
Flower girl and ringbearer were Madeline and Nathan Simon, children of Keith and Christine Simon and cousins of the groom.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Elks Lodge. Servers were Ruth Ellen Holdman, Phillis McLain, Julie Wilson and Nancy Witvoet.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Nov. 10 at High Street Station in Jackson, Mo.
Mrs. Strickland received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University in May 2000. She is a registered nurse in the Obstetrical Unit at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
The groom received a bachelor of science degree in health management at Southeast University in 1999. He is an exercise therapist with St. Francis Acceleration Program.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple is residing in Jackson.
