Tricia Gatto and Jason Smith were married May 27, 2000, at St. Mary's Cathedral. Msgr. Richard Rolwing performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Leann Hendricks, violinists were Michelle Suhr and Robyn Koenig, violist was Melvin Gilhaus, cellist was Gary Miller, and soloist was Keith Allen.
Readers were Duane Beussink and Geoff Smith of Cape Girardeau.
The bride is the daughter of Richard and Carol Gatto of Leitchfield, Ky. The groom is the son of Mac and Jayne Smith of Cape Girardeau.
Renee Vincent of Belleville, Ill., was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Debbie Gatto of Bowling Green, Ky., and Donna Cerritos of Germany, all sisters of the bride.
Best man was Colin Patterson of Cape Girardeau. Groomsmen were Shannon and Jeremy Smith of Cape Girardeau, brothers of the groom. Ushers were Rick Gatto of Houston, Texas, brother of the bride; Jay Boleach of St. Louis, cousin of the groom; Blake Gerard and Brent Metje of Cape Girardeau.
Candlelighters were Trent Copanas and Keith Inman of Cape Girardeau.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at Holiday Inn Convention Center.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner May 26 at River Eagle.
Mrs. Smith is a graduate of Grayson County High School in Leitchfield. She received a bachelor of science degree in communication disorders from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, and master of arts degree in communication disorders from Southeast Missouri State University. She is a speech/language pathologist with Pediatric Therapy Specialists in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The groom is a graduate of Central High School, served in the U.S. Army, and received a bachelor of arts degree in recreation from Southeast University. He is supervisor/coordinator of special events with the Parks and Recreation Department of Fort Wayne.
The couple resides in Fort Wayne.
