Heather LaShae Curtis and Chad Alan Ballance were married Aug. 28, 1999, at Cape Bible Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Dan Green performed the double ring ceremony. Musician was Shane Steck and vocalists were Kathy Smith, Wendy Taliaferro and Brad Berry.
Parents of the bride are Charles and Jeanne Curtis of McClure, Ill. The groom's parents are Dennis and Linda Ballance and John and Phyllis Wilson, all of Wolf Lake, Ill.
Nicole Emmons of Jackson served her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Goddard of Jackson; Staci Matlock and Debra McCain, both of McClure; and Sara Reynolds of Grand Tower, Ill.
Greg Emmons of Jackson, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man. Groomsmen were Robbie Rendleman and Larry Derossett, both of Wolf Lake; Cletus Palmer of Goreville, Ill., uncle of the groom; and Ryan Vanover of Murray, Ky., cousin of the groom. Ushers were Ron Eakins and Scott Bryan, uncle of the groom.
Flower girl was Lindsey Pewitt, daughter of Steve and Lisa Pewitt of Jackson and cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Andrew Livesay, son of David and Mindy Livesay of Wolf Lake and cousin of the groom.
Miniature bride was Morgan Carlisle, daughter of Darryl and Renee Carlisle of Wolf Lake. Miniature groom was Austin Emmons, son of Greg and Nicole Emmons of Jackson and nephew of the bride.
Candlelighters were April Ballance, sister of the groom, and Lara Brumitt of Bowling Green, Ky., sister of the groom.
After the ceremony, a reception was held at Drury Lodge. Guest book attendant was Tina Bryan, aunt of the groom.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Aug. 27 at Cape Bible Chapel.
Mrs. Ballance is a 1996 graduate of Shawnee High School and graduated in 1999 from Southern Illinois University with an associates of applied science degree, physical therapist assistant. She is employed in physical therapy at the Center for Comprehensive Services in Carbondale and at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
The groom is a 1993 graduate of Shawnee High School and is employed at M&W Packaging and is a farmer.
After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple resides in East Cape, Ill.
