WEDDINGS: ARANT-HELM

Sherry Lynn Arant and Bryan Gene Helm exchanged vows May 6, 2000, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Milton Ryan performed the double ring ceremony. Cantor was Alan Bruns of Cape Girardeau. Organist was Jeffrey Overbey of Cape Girardeau, and soloist was Barbara Daugstrup of Rocky River, Ohio.

Reader was Linda Fletcher of Dexter, Mo. Giftbearers were Steve and Vicki Arant of Lawton, Okla., uncle and aunt of the bride. Eucharist ministers were Trevor and Monica Huffman of Jacksonville, Ill., cousins of the bride.

Parents of the bride are Tom and Jeanette Telle and Jerry and Libby Arant of Poplar Bluff. The groom is the son of Brenda Matthews of Puxico, Mo., and Larry G. Helm of Dansville, Ala.

Angie Swasho of Fenton, Mo., was her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Misner of Poplar Bluff, cousin of the bride; Karen Schumer of Oak Ridge, Mo., Melissa McDonell of Arlington, Tenn., and Jill Kilgore of Poplar Bluff.

The groom chose his brother, Larry Helm of Puxico, as best man. Groomsmen were Chris and Brad Helm of Puxico, cousins of the groom, and Terry Clifton of Advance, Mo. Ushers and candlelighters were George Swasho of Fenton, brother-in-law of the bride, and Keith Huffman of Poplar Bluff, cousin of the bride.

Flower girl was Miranda Schumer, daughter of Andy and Karen Schumer of Oak Ridge. Ringbearer was Brandon Helm, son of Larry and Dana Helm and nephew of the groom.

Renea English of Doniphan, Mo., niece of the bride, attended the guest book. Programs were handed out by Erin and Traci English of Poplar Bluff, nieces of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dance was held at St. Vincent's Parish Center.

The groom's mother hosted the rehearsal dinner May 5 at Drury Lodge.

Mrs. Helm is a graduate of Poplar Bluff High School. She is employed at Thorngate Ltd. and Famous-Barr.

The groom is a graduate of Puxico High School. He is employed at K's Merchandise.

The couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
