Jennifer Pauline Martin and Daniel Garrick Bickel exchanged vows Jan. 15, 2000, at Cape Bible Chapel. Hal and Dan Greene performed the double ring ceremony. Camie Phillips of Ft. Thomas, Ky., read scriptures.
Pianist was Shane Steck of Cape Girardeau. Soloists were Wendy Taliaferro of Cape Girardeau, Brad Berry of Jackson, and Jesse and Karen Padgett of Vancouver, Canada.
Parents of the couple are Dr. Richard and Susan Martin of Cape Girardeau, and Gary and Myra Bickel of St. Charles.
Andrea Roth of Cape Girardeau and Betsy Yunck of Hannibal, sisters of the bride, were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Jenny Bickel of Kansas City, sister of the groom; Erica Wilson of Cape Girardeau, Elaine Harris of St. Louis, and Kristi Keeven of O'Fallon.
The groom chose Kevin Caldwell of St. Louis as best man. Groomsmen were Chris Merkley of St. Louis; Jon Martin of Jefferson City, brother of the bride; Keith Briggs of Summersville, brother-in-law of the groom; Kevin Shashack of St. Louis; and Brian McDaniel of St. Charles, brother-in-law of the groom. Ushers were Lance Pugh and Mike McNamara of St. Louis; Kyle Bickel, cousin of the groom, and Bryan Keeven, both of O'Fallon.
Candlelighters were Jennifer Carlton of Cape Girardeau and Melissa Rowe of University City.
Guest book attendants were Kim Anderson of Murray, Ky., Kara Newell of St. Louis, and Amy Grammar of Cape Girardeau.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Bavarian Halle in Jackson. Servers were Nicki Zito and Patty Merkley of St. Louis.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Drury Lodge.
Mrs. Bickel is a 1993 graduate of Central High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in communication disorders from Southeast Missouri State University in 1999. She is employed at Curves for Women Workout Center in St. Charles.
The groom is a 1993 graduate of Duchesne High School in St. Charles, and attended Southeast University. He is a CAD drafter with Lockwood-Greene in St. Louis.
The couple resides in St. Charles.
