Jennifer Ann Lage and Jason Peter Shaffer exchanged vows May 13, 2000, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. J. Friedel performed the double ring ceremony. Pianist was Patches King of Marceline, Mo. Soloists were Louisa Panou of Charlottesville, Va., Carrie Mineck of Des Moines, Iowa, Stephanie Shaffer of Des Moines, sister of the groom; and John Shaffer of Decorah, Iowa, brother of the groom.

Parents of the couple are Wally and Dori Lage of Cape Girardeau, and Terry and Sharon Shaffer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Gina Lage of Nashville, Tenn., was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Natasha Sarkari of Lexington, Ky., and Lalena Lewark of Downey, Calif.

The groom chose his brother, John Shaffer, as best man. Groomsmen were Matt Russel of Minneapolis, Minn., and Erik Simonis of San Diego, Calif. Ushers were Joe Lage of Weston, Fla., Jeff Lage of Cape Girardeau, brothers of the bride, and Justin Josephsen of St. Louis.

Flower girls were Tori and Alec Lage, daughters of Kurt and Hattie Lage of St. Louis and cousins of the bride. Ringbearer was Harrison Shaffer, son of Stephanie Shaffer and Julio Martinez of Des Moines and nephew of the groom.

Ellen Armbruster of St. Louis and Karen Colligan of Decorah attended the guest book and handed out programs.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at Drury Lodge.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Celebrations.

Mrs. Shaffer received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Southeast Missouri State University in 1998. She is an elementary teacher in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The groom received a bachelor of arts degree in music from Southeast in 1997. He is employed by Rockwell Collins, and is music director at Toddville Free Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids.

The couple is residing in Cedar Rapids.
