ALTENBURG -- Julie Nichole Hargraves and Mark Edward Ponder were united in marriage Nov. 13, 1999, at First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Frank Bain of Dexter performed the double ring ceremony. Pianist and vocalist was Mimi Kinnison and trumpeter and vocalist was John Kinnison, both of Perryville.
Parents of the bride are David Hargraves and Margaret Makins of Altenburg. The groom is the son of Edgar and Judy Ponder of Perryville.
The bride was presented in marriage by her parents.
Laura Seyer of Altenburg, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Victoria Glorioso of Chicago, sister of the groom; Angie McMahon and Gretchen Dorris of Cape Girardeau.
Best man was Jeff Bauwens of Cape Girardeau. Groomsmen were Todd Ponder of Warrenton, brother of the groom; Chris Kattenbracker of Waterloo, Ill., and Brian Seyer of Altenburg, brother-in-law of the bride. Ushers were Joe Bening of Cape Girardeau and Scott Wilson of Jackson.
Candlelighters were Tina Wills, cousin of the bride, and Holly Bauwens, both of Cape Girardeau.
Flower girl was Makenzie Dorris, daughter of Bill and Gretchen Dorris of Cape Girardeau. Ringbearer was Anthony Glorioso, son of Frank and Victoria Glorioso and nephew of the groom.
Lynne Krause of Atlanta, Ga., attended the guest book and handed out programs.
Following the ceremony, a reception, dinner and dance was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Perryville. Servers were Mona Clements of Perryville and Virginia Makins of Pinckney, Mich.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Nov. 12 at Ryan's Family Steak House in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Ponder is a graduate of Central High School in Cape Girardeau and Sikeston Vocational Technical School. She is a certified surgical technologist at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
The groom is a graduate of St. Vincent's High School in Perryville and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. He is employed at Procter & Gamble in Cape Girardeau.
After a wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman Islands, and Jamaica, the couple resides in Jackson.
