WEDDING: FRIEDRICH-HAZELWOOD

Nicole Renay Friedrich and Vance Thomas Hazelwood Jr. were married July 1, 2000, at Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson, Mo. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer performed the ceremony. Christy Shinn provided music, and soloist was Beth Roethemeyer.

Parents of the couple are Roger and Connie Friedrich of Cape Girardeau, and Vance and Debbie Hazelwood Sr. of Tamms, Ill.

Debbie Scholl of Jackson, aunt of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Regina Andrews of Tamms, sister of the groom; Keely Clingingsmith of Terre Haute, Ind., cousin of the bride; and Jennifer Emmons of Cape Girardeau. Junior bridesmaid was Elizabeth Andrews, daughter of Regina Andrews and Brad Andrews and niece of the groom.

Best man was Shannon Friedrich of Cape Girardeau, brother of the bride. Groomsmen were Sammy Hazelwood of Arnold, Mo., brother of the groom; Brandon Dillow and Richard "Stretch" Deimund of Cape Girardeau. Junior groomsman was Blake Friedrich, brother of the bride. Ushers were Kenny Ellis of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., and Joe Craig of Cape Girardeau.

Miniature bride was Brittany Hazelwood, daughter of the groom.

Flower girl was Amanda Scholl, goddaughter of the bride, and ringbearer was Jacob Scholl. They are the children of Teddy and Debbie Scholl and cousins of the bride.

Candlelighters were Andrew Scholl and Jarred Samson. Andrew is the son of Teddy and Debbie Scholl and cousin of the bride. Jarred is the son of Phillip and Becky Samson of Versailles, Mo.

Becky Samson attended the guest book. Programs and scrolls were handed out by Molly Friedrich, daughter of Dennis Friedrich and Janice Friedrich of Cape Girardeau; Brandon Samson, son of Phillip and Becky Samson; Deandrea Andrews, daughter of Regina Andrews and Brad Andrews; and Kayla Squires, daughter of Laurinda Marshall and Dean Squires of Granite City, Ill.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. Servers were Kathy Hazelwood, Jan Robinson, Diane Brown and Janice Friedrich.

The groom's family hosted the rehearsal dinner June 30 at the KC Hall.

Mrs. Hazelwood is a 1994 graduate of Notre Dame High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies from Southeast Missouri State University in 2000.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Egyptian High School.

The couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
