Rachel Lauren Vangilder and Derrick Lynn Biri exchanged vows Sept. 5, 2009, at Hanover Lutheran Church. Pastor Tony Kobak performed the ceremony. Pianist and organist was Christy Shinn of Jackson; trumpeter was Scott Vangilder of Jackson, uncle of the bride; and soloist was Katie Beste of Mount Vernon, Ind.
The bride is the daughter of Clay and Julie Vangilder of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Jim and Lisa Biri of Jackson.
Maid of honor was Kara Vangilder of Cape Girardeau, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kara Thompson of Jackson; Leslie McNeely and Kate Miller of Cape Girardeau; Katie Ballatore of Valley Ford, Calif., cousin of the bride; and Kristy Biri of Jackson, sister of the groom.
Tyler Beussink of Jackson was best man. Groomsmen were Brandon Gendron of Jackson, Chad Minson of Anna, Ill., Zach Brazer of Jackson, Justin Glenn of Cape Girardeau, and Cameron Heath of Jackson. Ushers were Ryan Vangilder of Festus, Mo., cousin of the bride; Lucas Davis and Drew Schnurbusch of Jackson, cousins of the groom.
Candlelighters were Tabitha and Teagan Schnurbusch, children of Pat and Jennifer Schnurbusch of Jackson and cousins of the groom.
Flower girl was Paige Balsman of Jackson, daughter of Jeremy Balsman and Amanda Balsman.
Colleen Gray of Jackson attended the guest book.
The reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
The parents of the bride and groom hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 4 at Hanover Church.
Mrs. Biri is a graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in health management from Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed at Healthpoint Fitness in Jackson.
The groom is a graduate of Jackson High School. He received a degree in management from Southeast. He is employed at Commerce Bank in Jackson.
After a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple is residing in Jackson.
