Jennifer Lynn VanGennip and Matthew Thomas Pobst were married Oct. 11, 2008, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Revs. Rahab Isidor and Saviour Nundwe performed the ceremony. Eucharistic ministers were Cheryl Lawrence, Linda Shaffar and Mary Hiler. Lectors were Judy Cantoni, aunt of the bride, and Sarah Zembsch, aunt of the groom, both of Cape Girardeau. Altar servers were Nicholas Cantoni, cousin of the bride, and Kristen Haberkorn, both of Cape Girardeau.
Pianist was Lenny Kuper and vocalist was Mary Richards, both of Cape Girardeau.
Parents of the couple are Fred and Bonita VanGennip, and Mark and Becky Pobst, all of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Kristen VanGennip of Cape Girardeau, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Elaine Rohde and Megan Koch of Cape Girardeau; Colleen Mullarney of St. Louis; Erika Cantoni of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride; and Laura Shaw of Effingham, Ill.
The groom chose his brother, Chris Pobst of Cape Girardeau, as best man. Groomsmen were Jacob Roth, Shane Kistner, Dustin Klipfel, Courtland Kohlfeld, Nathan LeGrand and Mark Rubel, all of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Joe Zembsch, cousin of the groom, and Paul Unterreiner, both of Cape Girardeau.
Anna Zembsch of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the groom, attended the guest book. Program attendants were Maggie and Hannah Davis of Collierville, Tenn., cousins of the bride.
A dinner and dance reception was held at the Elks Lodge. Servers were Barb Hammers of Jackson and Judy Cantoni, aunts of the bride; Bonnie Ogle and Sarah Zembsch of Cape Girardeau, aunts of the groom.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Oct. 10 at Port Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Pobst is a 2002 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in mass communication from Southeast Missouri State University in 2006. She is marketing coordinator with Big River Telephone Co.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of Notre Dame. He received a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice and psychology from Southeast in 2006. He is a sales consultant with AT&T.
After a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
