Lora Beth Vails and Corey William Schumer were married Sept. 20, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland, Mo. The Rev. Don Ours performed the ceremony. Music was by Terry Edwards of Perryville, Mo. Offertory was by Tyler and Brian Rhodes.
The bride is the daughter of Darrell Vails of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Thomas and Linda Schumer of Perryville.
Maid of honor was Dena Mayberry of Zalma, Mo. Bridesmaids were Misty Blankenship of Zalma, Kayleigh Halbert of Chaffee, Mo., Nikki Hodges of Jackson; Alisha Schumer of Perryville, sister of the groom, and Natalie Vails of Jackson, sister of the bride.
Caleb Schumer of Zalma was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Shannon Schumer of Kelso, Jeremy and Seth Schumer of Perryville, brothers of the groom; Jeremy Halbert of Chaffee; and D.J. Biri of Perryville, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Tyson Schumer of Greenville, Ill., brother of the groom, and Kenny Kile of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride.
Candlelighters were Carrie Schumer of Batavia, Ill., and Katrina Schumer of Perryville, sisters of the groom.
Flower girl was Kassie Hodges, daughter of Steven and Nikki Hodges and cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was William Schumer, son of Shannon and Crystal Schumer and nephew of the groom.
The reception was held at St. Joseph Hall.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 19 at St. Joseph Hall.
Mrs. Schumer is a 2005 graduate of Central High School, and is majoring in social work at Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed at the Lutheran Home.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of Perryville High School. He is employed at TG Missouri Corp.
The couple is residing in Perryville.
