Thompson-Baker

Centenary United Methodist Church was the setting Aug. 14, 2004, for the wedding of Kristina Leigh Thompson and Keith Alan Baker. Dr. Clayton Smith performed the ceremony. Organist and pianist was Beverly Reece, and soloists were Chris and Shelby Talbert.

The bride is the daughter of Ed and Marsha Thompson of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Dennis and Beverly Baker of Herculaneum, Mo.

Maid of honor was Lauren Thompson of Cape Girardeau, sister of the bride, and matron of honor was Vicki Calloway of Rolla, Mo. Bridesmaids were Emma Gerst of St. Louis, Kathie Nelms of Crystal City, sister of the groom, Johnna Bridges of Columbus, Ohio, Kasey Maddock of Ames, Iowa, and Kristin Burkholder of Lafayette, Ind.

The groom chose his father as best man. Groomsmen were Dr. Joel Spencer of Noblesville, Ind., John Thompson of Notre Dame, Ind., and Chris Thompson of Kansas City, Mo., brothers of the bride; Dr. Bryan Wiegand of Farmer City, Ill., Aaron Wiegand of St. Louis, Dr. Nate Hill of Fort Smith, Ark., and Ben Nelms of Crystal City, brother-in-law of the groom. Ushers were Chris and Jon Thompson.

Flower girls were Natalie Mishu and Quincey Wiegand. Ringbearer was Ryan Talbert. Natalie is the daughter of Louay and Jeanne Mishu of Cape Girardeau. Quincey is the daughter of Bryan and Theresa Wiegand. Ryan is the son of Lewis and Kelly Talbert of Austin, Texas, cousin of the bride.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. C.R. Talbert Jr. Servers were Melissa Schreiweis, Kelly Talbert and Tracy Copenhafer.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Aug. 13 at Plaza Conference Center.

Mrs. Baker received bachelor and master degrees in animal science from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and expects to receive a doctorate in monogastric nutrition in August 2005.

The groom received bachelor and master degrees in animal science from the university. He is a clinical research representative at Elanco, the animal health division of Eli Lilly.

The couple is residing in Greenfield, Ind.
