Kara Marie Thompson and Brandon Paul Gendron were married May 21, 2011, at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. John Rice performed the ceremony. Pianist was Linda Thompson of Jackson. Vocalist was Charlene Thompson of Columbia, Mo., sister-in-law of the bride.
Parents of the couple are Buzz and Linda Thompson and Rodney and Denise Gendron of Jackson.
Maid of honor was Amy West of Denver, Colo., and matron of honor was Rachel Biri of Jackson. Bridesmaids were Colleen Gray of Cape Girardeau; Lacey Gendron of Jackson, sister of the groom; Charlene Thompson; and Rachel Meystedt of Columbia.
Zachery Gendron of Jackson was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Derrick Biri of Jackson; Joe Jany of Chester, Ill., cousin of the groom; Ryan Gendron of Jackson, brother of the groom; Chris Thompson of Columbia and Jeremy Thompson of Jackson, brothers of the bride. Ushers were Rick Gendron of St. Louis, uncle of the groom; and Josh Rosendahl of Chester, Ill., cousin of the groom.
Flower girls were Mackenzie Thompson and Tessa Thompson, nieces of the bride. Mackenzie is the daughter of Chris and Charlene Thompson. Tessa is the daughter of Jeremy Thompson.
The reception was held at Deerfield Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner May 20 at Kimbeland Country Club.
Mrs. Gendron is a 2005 graduate of Jackson High School, and received a degree in interior design from Southeast Missouri State University. She is an interior designer with Drury Southwest Inc. in Cape Girardeau.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Jackson High School, and received a degree in sports management from Southeast. He is a project assistant at Direct Line Marketing in Jackson.
After a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple is residing in Jackson.
