Steffens - Miesner

FROHNA, Mo. -- Julia Anne Steffens and Derek Paul Miesner were married May 25, 2013, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna. The Rev. Rod Benkendorf performed the ceremony. Organist was Sarah Benkendorf of Frohna.

Parents of the couple are Daniel and Lori Steffens and Rick and Elaine Miesner of Frohna.

Maids of honor were Catie Oberndorfer of Altenburg, Mo., and Hailey Roth of Frohna. Matron of honor was Jessalyn Dippold of St. Louis, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lacey Hemman of Frohna; Hilary Hemman of St. Louis; Rachael Neislein of Perryville, cousin of the groom; and Bethany Miesner of Frohna, sister of the groom.

Chad Miesner, brother of the groom, and Stanley Miesner, cousin of the groom, of Frohna, were best men. Groomsmen were Aaron Dippold of St. Louis, brother-in-law of the bride; Robert Unger of Paragould, Ark., David Neislein of Perryville, Mo., Thomas Fritsche of Frohna, and Brandon Steffens of Altenburg. Ushers were Ryan Jones and Travis Martyn of Perryville, cousins of the groom, and Andrew Clifton of Cadiz, Ky.

Candlelighters were Katie Miesner of Frohna, sister-in-law of the groom, and Hannah Kutz of Cape Girardeau.

Flower girl was Kessly Scholl, daughter of Tony and Shandy Scholl of Frohna and goddaughter of the bride. Ringbearer was Carson Martyn, son of Kevin and Kara Martyn of Frohna and cousin of the groom.

The reception was held at Bavarian Halle in Jackson.

The couple's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner May 24 at Hemman Winery at Brazeau, Mo.

Mrs. Miesner is a 2011 graduate of Saxony Lutheran High School. She expects to receive a degree in mass communication from Southeast Missouri State University in December 2014. She is employed at Bank of Missouri in Cape Girardeau.

The groom is a 2006 graduate of Perryville High School. He attended Mineral Area College, and expects to receive a degree in agriculture business from Southeast in May 2014. He is employed by Natural Resources Conservation Services in Jackson.

After a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple is residing in Frohna.
