Kyla Janae Smith and Matthew Lee Ressel exchanged vows June 24, 2006, at Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City. Robert Azinger performed the ceremony. Organist was Christy Bohn of Scott City, and vocalist was Cassie Beary of Columbia, Mo.
The bride is the daughter of Rodney and Judy Smith of Jackson, and Barbara and Sam Herndon of Scott City. The groom is the son of Bradley and Sandra Ressel of Scott City.
Maid of honor was Alaina Smith of Scott City, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kelly Ressel, sister-in-law of the groom; Britne Amick and Gretchen Ward, all of Scott City.
Derek Ham of Scott City was best man. Groomsmen were Jason Ressel, brother of the groom; Brett Howell and Derrick Huckstep, all of Scott City. Ushers were Donnie Wiley and Aaron Friend of Scott City, and Tyler Stearns of Jackson, stepbrother of the bride.
Candlelighters were Jessica Ham and Rachel Noon of Scott City.
Flower girl was Lexi Burnett, daughter of Ben Burnett of Whitewater and Jason and Kelly Ressel of Scott City, niece of the groom. Ringbearer was Hunter Miller, son of Sarah Glosemeyer and Dutch Miller of Cape Girardeau, nephew of the bride.
Tricia Curnell, aunt of the bride, attended the guest book.
The reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City. Servers were LaReesa Hanusa, aunt of the bride, and Stefanie Tatum.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner June 23 at Buckner Brewing Co.
Mrs. Ressel attended Scott City High School, and received a bachelor of science degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 2006. She is employed by Disability Determinations in Cape Girardeau.
The groom attended Scott City High School. He is employed at Glazers Midwest of Cape Girardeau.
After a wedding trip to Las Vegas, the couple resides in Scott City.
