Shelley Renee Smith and Michael Allen Mathes were married Oct. 13, 2007, at their home. The Rev. Gary Brothers performed the ceremony. Music was by the Mid Life Crisis Band. Vocalists were Tera Mathes of Cape Girardeau, daughter-in-law of the groom, and Kasey Mathes-Klughart of Benton, Mo., daughter of the groom.
The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Ruby Smith of Cape Girardeau. Mathes is the son of Roger and Betty Groves of Branson, Mo.
Matron of honor was Kim Keser of Cape Girardeau, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Penny Burnell and Tammy Gammon of Cape Girardeau.
Kevin Skaggs of Cape Girardeau was best man. Groomsmen were Mark Mathes of Ironton, Mo., brother of the groom, and Chris Mathes of Cape Girardeau, son of the groom. Ushers were Chuck Klughart of Benton, son-in-law of the groom, and Mike Smith of Cape Girardeau, brother of the bride.
Flower girl was Courtney Jones. Ringbearer was Brandon Burnell, son of Brian and Penny Burnell.
Guest book attendants were Chase and Morgan Mathes of Branson, nephew and niece of the groom.
The reception was held at the VFW Hall. Servers were Kasey Mathes-Klughart and Tera Mathes.
The bride and groom hosted the rehearsal dinner at their home.
After a cruise to the Bahamas and Caribbean, the couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
