JACKSON, Mo. -- Jennifer Elizabeth Simmons and Jimmy Dale Parker II were married June 2, 2001, in an outdoor setting at the home of the bride's parents. The Rev. Don Slatton performed the double ring ceremony. Pianists were Lindsey Chubboy of Jackson and Wilma Hueter of Festus, Mo., aunt of the bride. Vocalists were Shawnda Strand of Carthage, Mo., and Adrian True of Jackson.
Parents of the bride are Joseph W. Simmons II and Joy Simmons of Jackson. The groom is the son of Zelda Parker of Jackson, and the late Jimmy Parker.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father.
Matron of honor was Julie Brockmire of Cape Girardeau, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jill Jones of Jackson, Tenn., sister of the bride; Kendra Files of Chaffee, Mo.; Amie Glass and Audrey Norman of Jackson; and Rebecca Simmons of Grand Tower, Ill., cousin of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Amy Vanlandingham, daughter of Mark Vanlandingham and Kim Vanlandingham of Jackson.
The groom chose Nathan Norman of Jackson as best man. Groomsmen were Michael Brockmire of Cape Girardeau, brother-in-law of the bride; Ray Bollinger; Ray Bollinger; Kadin Boardman; Jeff Smith; and Johnny Farrow, nephew of the groom, all of Jackson. Junior groomsman was Justin Farrow of Jackson, nephew of the groom.
Flower girl was Kayla Thurman, daughter of Jeff and Kristi Thurman of Cape Girardeau. Ringbearer was Dakota Strand, son of Mark and Darlene Strand of Glen Allen, Mo.
Trainbearers were Randa Norman, daughter of Brandon and Rhonda Norman, and Grace Vangilder, daughter of Jim and Marsha Vangilder, all of Jackson.
Ann Farrow, sister of the groom, attended the guest book. Program attendant was Denise McFadden.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at the Simmons home. Servers were Jean Schweain, Marilyn Brown and Linda Norman.
The groom's mother hosted the rehearsal dinner June 1.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology education from Southeast Missouri State University last May. She is a teacher at Jackson Middle School.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of Jackson High School. He is employed by Central States Coca-Cola in Jackson.
After a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple resides in Jackson.
