Simmons - Keys

Sarah Jane Simmons and Joseph Lee Keys were united in marriage Aug. 2, 2008, at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in St. Louis. The Rev. Paul Biber performed the ceremony. Readers were Brenda Smyth of St. Louis, aunt of the bride; Angela Deprow of Chaffee, Mo., aunt of the groom; and Debbie Roberts of Hillsboro, Mo., godmother of the bride. Soloist was Autumn Vandeven of Chaffee, cousin of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Everett W. and Deborah Simmons Jr. of St. Louis. The groom is the son of Willard D. and Mary Keys Jr. of Chaffee.

Matron of honor was Melissa Updike of St. Louis, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sarah Keys of Chaffee, sister of the bride; Jennifer Ream of St. Louis; Alexis Arnzen of Leopold, Mo.; and Donna Simmons of St. Louis, sister-in-law of the bride.

Thomas Horn of Whitewater was best man. Groomsmen were Aaron Sanders and Brandon Keesee of Cape Girardeau; Scott Simmons, brother of the bride, and Steve Updike, brother-in-law of the bride, both of St. Louis. Ushers were Jacob Glaus of Jackson, cousin of the groom, and Robert Arnzen of Leopold.

Flower girl and ringbearer were Alexis and Tyler Updike, children of Steve and Melissa Updike and niece and nephew of the bride.

Angela Sanders of Cape Girardeau attended the guest book.

The reception was held at Andre's Banquet Center in Oakville.

The rehearsal dinner was held Aug. 1 at Crusoe's Restaurant in Oakville.

Mrs. Keys received a bachelor of science degree in finance from Southeast Missouri State University in 2004. She is a credit analyst at Montgomery Bank in Cape Girardeau.

The groom received a bachelor of science degree in advertising from Southeast in 2007. He is an election supervisor with Cape Girardeau County.

After a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
