First Baptist Church in Delta was the setting June 12, 2004, for the wedding of Sheila Nicole Sanders and Gregory John Goergen. Phil Berry performed the ceremony. John Skinner, grandfather of the groom, sang a song he wrote for the couple.

The bride is the daughter of Ruth Sanders of Delta, and the late Richard Sanders. The groom is the son of Ron and Linda Goergen of Greers Ferry, Ark.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Richard Sanders Jr. of Delta.

Maid of honor was Amanda Sanders of Delta, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jessica Handley and Amy Umbeck of Cape Girardeau.

David Duncan of Greers Ferry was best man. Groomsmen were Jason Freeman of Conway, Ark., and Kevin Davis of Greers Ferry. Ushers were Aaron and James Sanders of Kelso, Mo., cousins of the bride.

Elizabeth Kluesner of Oak Ridge was guest book and program attendant.

The reception was held at Delta Community Center.

The bride and groom hosted the rehearsal dinner June 11 at the church.

Mrs. Goergen is a graduate of Delta High School. She is employed at Quality Metal in Delta.

The groom is a graduate of West Side High School in Greers Ferry. He received a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. He is a computer technician at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Cape Girardeau.

After a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple is residing near Advance, Mo.
