Rachel Renee Ruopp and Timothy Adam Wencewicz were married May 14, 2011, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Revs. David Hulshof and James Seyer performed the ceremony. Organist was Teresa Maurer of Cape Girardeau, and vocalists were Jackie Pollvogt of St. Louis and Mike Kohlfeld of Cape Girardeau. Music was by string quartet Landolfi of St. Louis.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Jack and Janice Ruopp of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Tom and Dotty Wencewicz of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Erica Ruopp of St. Louis, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Megan Ruopp of St. Louis and Jacklyn Ruopp of Cape Girardeau, sisters of the bride; and Stacey Welter of Kelso, Mo.
Tommy Wencewicz of Edwardsville, Ill., was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Graham Ruopp of Cape Girardeau, brother of the bride; Robert Michael of Cape Girardeau, brother-in-law of the groom; and Scott Wittenborn of Columbia, Mo. Ushers were Dalton Pollvogt and Charles Drury III of St. Louis, Tyler Burnette of O'Fallon, Ill., cousins of the bride; Jamie Ashworth of Cape Girardeau, nephew of the groom; and Brenton Ruopp of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride.
Candlelighters were Theresa Mier and Ellie Worley of Cape Girardeau, nieces of the groom. Theresa is the daughter of Ruth Ann Hester and Tony Mier. Ellie is the daughter of Jeff and Amy Worley.
Flower girls were Madison Bonham, cousin of the bride, and Abigail Michael, niece of the groom. Ringbearer was Hunter Bonham, cousin of the bride. Madison and Hunter are children of Jeff and April Bonham of Cape Girardeau. Abigail is the daughter of Robert and Katie Michael of Cape Girardeau.
The reception was held at Drury Lodge.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner May 13 at St. Vincent de Paul Church.
Mrs. Wencewicz received a bachelor of arts degree in humanistic studies from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Ind., in 2008. She is in her final year at Boston College Law School in Boston, Mass.
The groom received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and mathematics from Southeast Missouri State University in 2006. He completed a Ph.D. in organic chemistry at the University of Notre Dame in 2011, and is a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
After a wedding trip to Puerto Rico, the couple is residing in Boston.
