Claire Jane Ross and Michael Aaron O'Neal were married July 21, 2001, in a garden ceremony at the Indianapolis Museum of Art in Indiana. The Rev. David Clayton performed the double ring ceremony.

Parents of the bride are Walter and Jane Ross of Carmel, Ind., formerly of the Cape Girardeau and Jackson area. The groom is the son of Larry and Carolyn O'Neal of New Palestine, Ind.

Maid of honor was Dana Norris of Chicago.

Matt O'Mansky of Nashville, Tenn., served the groom as best man. Ushers were Christian Ross of Carmel, brother of the bride; Matthew Weeks of Nashville; and Barry Moebius of Indianapolis.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Garden on the Green in Indianapolis. A dinner and dance was held later at The Woodlands Clubhouse in Carmel.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner July 20 at Buca di Beppo in Indianapolis.

Mrs. O'Neal is a 1997 graduate of Pike High School in Indianapolis. She received a bachelor of arts degree in English and a bachelor of science degree in biology from Indiana University in 2000. She is a graduate student in chemistry at the University of Washington.

The groom is a 1988 graduate of Howe High School in Indianapolis. He received a bachelor of arts degree in anthropology in 1993, and a master of science degree in geology in 1999, both from Indiana University. He is a graduate student in geology at the University of Washington.

After a wedding trip to the United Kingdom, the couple resides in Seattle, Wash.
